Fitness Friday-February Did You Know?
Did you know that Februarys is American Heart month? Did you know it is National Cancer Prevention Month too?
We are in the 2nd month of the year. 31 days have now past. How are you doing with your resolution? Are we losing weight, getting fit, or improving? I know it is hard, trust me I know.
My stats-
-Ran 8 days
-Gym 1 day
-lose 4 of the 10 lbs I gained since my last weight update back in December. Yes, damage was done.
So you see, we all lose focus but it is time to refocus. Here are a few tips to refocus:
1) Try to workout at least 4 days a week for 30 minutes. You can do 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes at lunch, and 10 minutes in the afternoon. Whatever works, but get moving.
2) Eat at least 1 fruit and 1 veggie a day. Our days may be very busy but grab an apple on the way out the door and eat it on the way in to work. Remember an apple a day, keeps the doctor away. Apple Fact-apples are a negative calorie food that burn more calories than it actually contains. While you are cooking grab a couple of carrots and crunch on them, or slice some cucumbers. This way you will get something in your stomach and you wont over eat at dinner time.
3) Check your cholesterol, blood pressure, sugar. Locally, HEB offers free screenings on the 2nd Saturday of the month, every month. If you get there early enough, you could win vouchers for a full check up, FREE!! Know your numbers, and stay healthy.
You are the keeper of your body, no-one else. Remember if you got lost, the REFOCUS starts today.
