My family loves sports. We love to support our Houston teams. Soccer is a sport that I learned to love later on in my life. When my son was 3, the only sport he could play was Soccer. I had never really played or paid that much attention to it. But I had to learn about the sport, I even ended up coaching a year or two. It was so much fun. The fans, them fans are wild.
My husband and I were invited to come watch the Houston Dynamo play. We had never been to a game or the new BBVA Compass Stadium. It is a beautiful stadium. I have enjoyed seeing its beauty from the freeway. It has been a great addition to Houston Downtown.
But before the game, we were able to attend a press conference with one of the coaches, Coach Tim Hanley. This was so cool to learn about the game straight from a coach.
Next we headed down to the field to watch the players practice before the game. This was so much fun. I have not been on a field for a professional Soccer game ever. The players so close to you. Chris Canetti, Houston Dynamo President, came down to the field to greet us and answer any questions we had.
Practice was awesome. I am into fitness and seeing their drills was really cool to me. The stretching was my favorite, wink, wink!
And now for the game Houston Dynamo vs Montreal Impact....GO Dynamo #ForeverOrange
It was a great game. We won! After the game we got a special treat and went behind the scenes to meet and greet some of the players.

Alex and Luis were kind enough to hang out with us and answer my drilling questions. Luis told me his mom was the one that use to practice with him when he was a little boy. And that so reminded me of my kiddo and me. They are so humble. They are proud to be playing for the Houston Dynamo. I am from El Salvador and they are from Honduras, kinda like sister countries. By the end of our conversation I felt like we were related. Thanks to their kind words and interactions. It is good to know hard work does does pay off and these two have a great future in front of them. I wish both Luis and Alex a great successful season, as they are already winners in my book. I am so glad they aspire to be role models for our next generation to live and dream big. When you come come our countries, there is no I in team. You cheer everyone on, and wish them great success. When one succeeds, it is as we all have gotten better by association.
Thanks also to Boniek Garcia, #27 Mid Fielder and from Tegucigalpa, Honduras for stopping to take a picture with us.
