This Summer has been super extra hot. From beach trips to birthday parties at the parks, we have so much more sun exposure than normal in these months. I know my skin is feeling very dry, and I am sure my kid's skin is too.
Dr. Maria Patricia Rivas says, "It is common to see kids with uneven skin tone like white spots, especially on their cheeks and arms. This is due to dry patches of skin that do not tan evenly. To avoid this, always use a sunscreen to protect your skins from the sun and keep their skin moisturized with Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion. Perfect for the entire family, this lotion will help you and your kids achieve healthy-looking skin."
So it is important to get your kid's started on a daily routine, especially now that it is BACK TO SCHOOL time:
First, start by teaching your kiddos to apply lotion before they head to school and at nighttime before bed. It is important to moisturize the entire body. Do not forget all the creases in your body, like your neck, elbows, and knees.
Right before bedtime, apply the lotion while you give your kiddo a massage. A good ole massage never hurt anyone and will help them relax. My kids love massages. Massage will ensure their skin absorbs all the lotion and is not rubbed off on their jammies.
It is ideal to moisturize within 3 minutes after their bath or shower. Applying lotion when the skin is still damp will help trap in moisture, preventing dry skin.
If you have smaller children, like I do, try making this a routine a little more fun by singing a song or playing a game. My toddler loves making up songs, and likes when mami makes up songs too.

I am still in denial about school starting again. I try to make moisturizing part of their morning routine.
