Travel Tuesday-2015 Texas Renaissance Festival

Have you ever been to the Texas Renaissance Festival?  This is my husband, my son, and I back in 2010.
It had been awhile since we had been back and we had never taken our daughter.  The Texas Renaissance Festival is open from October 10-November 29.  Each weekend they have a different theme.  When we attended Comicpalooza one of the booths was giving away free tickets to this weekend, which was opening weekend.

Here are some pics of our day:
Have you ever seen a dragon?  Have you pet one?
Make sure to check out Tartanic.  This is one of my husband's favorite shows.  Bag pipes and drums!!
There is a kid's section that includes a petting zoo with miniature horses, pigs, ducks, and goats.  You can ride a horse, an elephant, or a lama.
You can learn to dance.  Or just watch the amazing dancers.  This is my husband's favorite show.

Don't miss all the action inside the Hacienda San Jorge.  It is shaded, there are fans blowing, food, and drinks to enjoy while watching the show.
You never know who you will run into.  Everyone is there to have a good time.
A few tips from us:
1)  Wear comfortable shoes.  There will be a lot of walking.  If it has been raining, it may be a little muddy.
2)  Kids get in FREE on Sundays.
3)  Stroller/Wagons-If you are bringing small children, bring a stroller or a wagon.
4)  Weather-Check the weather.  We are in the Fall.  You may need a small sweater when the sun goes down.  Bring sunscreen, shades, and/or hats.  It was hot and sunny Sunday.
5)  Fireworks-Don't miss out on the fireworks at the end of the night.
6)  Cash-Most of the vendors, if not all, are CASH only.  So make sure to hit the ATM before getting to the Renaissance.   There are ATMs there but you take your chance on fees.
7)  Camera-Don't forget your camera.  You will want to capture of the fun moments.
8)  Fun-Have lots of fun!
